Paris, je t'aime

Paris.. you say it IS the epitome of romance.
Paris.. what you didn't realised was that romance could be in the air.

We took in the sights of Fragonard, absorbing the history of perfume, and its origins and you showed me the reason why butterflies are attracted to you.
We took in the sounds of Fragonard, flitting, flirting and dancing around, and i revealed the secret scent that made those girls crave for me.

You hailed the arc de Triomphe; revealing that it was a monument that Napoleon built in honour of his countrymen for their bravery.
I hailed the arc de Triomphe; but i didn't mentioned that it was also at this very monument that my courage failed me.

As we pass by the Louvre, you realise it was featured in the Da Vinci Code.
We took them all..Red and Blue; Mary and Jesus. Saints to Saturn; David to Goliath.
You caught a glimpse of Leonardo's Mona Lisa; I had my fill of Nature's Moi Love.
You enjoyed the masterpiece from the past; I simply indulged in another masterpiece from the present.

It wasn't merely the sights that were captivating, the sound and smell was just as relentless. Dogs were plenty, but it wasn't the barking and poo. To do justice to Ratatouille and No Reservations, we scouted the streets. Escargots and foie gras we must try, fine dining was what we had in mind. Alas, prices were steep and we ended with crepes. Banana and Chocolate, we continued hand in hand.

Stopping by Galeries Lafayette, Prada Chanel Bvlgari you ignored. For you had set your sights on nothing but LV.
I couldn't have sat back and let you indulge in the therapy alone. A cardholder was what i need and we bought one from Gucci. Prices were high, as were our europiah, Headache will only set in later when the bill comes knocking.

You know the Effiel Tower was built to mark the centennial for the unification of the French in 1889. We stood by, embracing and enjoying the illumination of the city, as the tower stood by proudly in the background; erected for all to see its magnificent iron appearance.
But you didn't know the Effiel Tower marks the end for the cyclist in present day Tour de France. And pretty soon it was time to bid farewell. As you walked into the shadows, i looked on forlornly on my knees, losing my resolute to chase and say a final goodbye.

Hey isn't it here that we had our closest moments? I say..We are in PARIS!
Hey isn't it here that we shared the deepest memories? You screamed..WE ARE IN PARIS!

But unlike the Notre Dame which had its walls held by flying buttresses,
our love soon crumbled as it was nothing more than me building Gothic churches and castles in the air..

as the heat from the afternoon sun soon woke me up..
