In the last mail, Valentino sent a harsh mail to CK Phua and his wife, Rosalind Phua. Valentino did not heed the suggestions nor even thinking about talking to them and letting them know the problem. Instead he decided to take immediate and extreme action. I feel that this is too rash a decision to make and its obvious that Valentino is too furious to think rationally. The solution he is using should only be implemented when all else fails and he has no choice but to part ways for the better. Currently, this is not the case. He had not even gave them ample warning and there is no chance to see if they are willing to change. Plus, he does everything by mail and did not even talk to them face to face. A better solution might be that given by Ramesh, talking to them face-to-face first and letting them know the situation. From then on, there can be compromises made or CK and Rosalind Phua realises their mistakes and amend. Either way, the situation would not be that nasty. Even if they were to decide to part eventually, they would have accepted it as they were given chances and it will not be that unpleasant.
In the penultimate mail exchanged between Valentino, Amran and Ramesh, Valentino listed out all the problems that were straining the relationship between himself and his fellow parthners. However he's not doing justice to the problems because he's telling others the problem but not addressing the root of the problem. The source of his troubles lies with CK and Roaslind but he is listing it to his fellow subbordinates. This isn't helping the issue that is already affecting them and if CK or Roaslind knows about words being exchanged between the rest of the people in office, it might not go well with them and it could really blow the matter up. Furthermore, the words used by Valentino is negative, and a negative message will only lead up to a negative response which isn't very benefical to communication between both parties. Since they started the company together 3 years ago together, they should face problems together. Especially since the company is starting to bear fruit in the past two years.
Ah..finally a module in school that doesn't place much stress on my grey matter.
Mastering Communication. How apt.
It's a good module. Everybody should do it. It makes one reflect on communication. proper.
Thinkning back, it's something that hasn't been my forte. There's so much i can do and improve on. :)
Stay clear flu bug! I'm one week away from taking a dip in the pool!
