we'll hear stories from friends about how great things would be.
and form expectations of our own.
whether things turn out to be really good as they sound,
i guess it would really depends on how you decide them to be.
this thing about hall life..
i guess it really differs from hall to hall..school to school..
i would say it's not very much different from your JC class..
where your school would shape the cuture
think AJ NJ - mug, VJ, SA - fun etctetc
and your class would be the cliques that you hand out with
your OG group, your neighbours.. your blockmates..
when we step in as freshies..
there's an abundant enthusiasm and anticipation..
we are eager to make friends. to join activities. to join events.
outings are so frequent; overseas trips are spontaneous.
second year..everybody starts to get busy..
tied down their own stuff..
people with exchange fly away..
people suffocate under the weight of workload..
people get attached..
ou er nan mian hui you muo cha between the group..
we run out of things to say..we become lazy to meet up..
when things were bright and cheery..
we want to live in the same block..be neighbours..be as close as possible..
when we get what we want. somehow complications set in and..
maybe the idea wasn't a good one in the first place?
proximity is beauty?
end of year one..we can't wait to move next to each other..
end of senior year..and we can't wait to move away from each other..
to get a single room..away from everbody..
what then is the point of communal living..
ponders ponders..
so let's just stay in the moment, smoke some weed, drink some wine.
reminisce, talk some shit, forever young is in your mind.
leave a mark that can't erase neither space nor time.
-forever young, i wanna be forever young. -
