it's not easy to get the number of your choice in a club. because usually it's either taken by a senior player, or there are players who like the same number as you too.
it's even harder to lose the number of your choice. unless it's not the number of your choice in the first place, and you like another number better, so you get a new number, ie. rooney now holding no. 10. OR you are no longer with the club.

similarly. it's hard for me to cast someone to be a worthy midfielder in my team. because he needs to prove himself that he can blend in with the team, spread the passes, break down the opponent's attack, start the attacking move, a bonus if he could split the defense with a pass, and earn the respect of the team, because, he would very likely end up with the captain's armband.
